Experience the contrasts of Tokyo as you travel south on the Tokyo Bay Aqua Line, an ultra modern bridge and tunnel stretching 10 miles across Tokyo Bay, to the ancient neighborhood of Kamakura. Here you’ll see the 11th century Tsurugaoka Shrine and the imposing, 40 foot Daibutsu (large Buddha). From here, it’s a short drive to the seaside town of Atami, famous for its hot springs perched along the ocean (the name Atami means “hot ocean”). Check into your ocean view room early with ample time to enjoy the amazing hot spring baths. Slip into your Yukata (summer kimono) and enjoy a delicious Kaiseki, a traditional Japanese feast. Later, do as the locals do and enjoy an evening of Karaoke. -
